Lauricidin® is a pure form of monolaurin, a lauric acid derivative extensively studied for its role in immune and digestive health. It is a compound that enhances gut health by selectively targeting gram-positive bacteria and aiding in reducing inflammation. Antiviral Properties

Disrupts the lipid envelope of many viruses (e.g., influenza, Epstein-Barr, CMV, HSV). Shown to inactivate viruses by solubilizing the envelope lipids — essentially "dissolving" their outer coating. May reduce chronic immune burden from latent viral infections (which can affect the gut indirectly).

Antifungal Activity

Active against Candida species and other opportunistic yeasts. Helps balance fungal overgrowth that often coexists with SIBO or post-antibiotic dysbiosis. It does this by disrupting lipid membranes in fungi as it does with bacteria.

Biofilm Disruption

Anti-Inflammatory Effects

Immune Modulation

Enhances innate immunity by boosting natural killer (NK) cell activity and macrophage function. Can help maintain mucosal immunity without overstimulation.

Potential for Gut-Calming in SIBO

In some SIBO cases, it reduces bloating, gas, and immune-triggered symptoms without the side effects of antibiotics or harsh herbs. Doesn’t appear to kill off Akkermansia, Bacteroides, or many beneficial Gram-negative species (as long as dosing is reasonable).
